Winter has arrived and to herald its arrival, Wednesday morning everyone woke up to a winter wonderland of falling snow. To celebrate the first snowstorm of the year, Mrs. Apple gave her 3rd grade class a weather project for the day’s activity. Each student was to email a friend or relative who lived in another northern state or northern country and ask what the weather conditions were on Wednesday morning. Determine each student’s first name and the first name, relation to the student, location, and weather condition of the person they emailed.

1. It was raining in England and snowing in Minnesota. Walter’s brother wasn’t Greg. Mary’s relative didn’t live where it was snowing. Pamela was the relative in Canada.

2. Aunt Claire doesn’t live in Washington.

3. Mary didn’t email a brother in England. It was snowing where Walter lived. Ralph wasn’t related to Sara.

4. The weather in New York wasn’t sunny. Claire didn’t live in Minnesota.

5. Charlie emailed his brother, who didn’t live in England. Greg emailed a female relative.

6. The five students are represented by: Rob, Uncle Ralph, the sister of one of the students, England, and a place where it’s snowing.
