Happy New Year! My thanks to all of you who have sent me notes - I do appreciate your thoughts and well-wishes. While my parents health issues continue, I think we're finally over the worst of it (I hope!). My father, who went through colon cancer surgery in early October, continues to improve and grow stronger. For the first time since the surgery, I can leave him alone for extended periods without worrying myself sick about him. While a long-term solution for my mother continues to elude us, we do at least have her stable for now. So, for the first time in months, life is settling back into some semblance of routine and I am cautiously optimistic for the new year.....

Unfortunately, the addition of new puzzles will probably continue to be erratic for a bit longer but soon we should be able to get back to our regular monthly schedule. My partners and I are still committed to the monthly puzzles and all those that are missing will still be posted. Just please be patient a bit longer... ~ Shelly

Grid Detective is a free Kindle game featuring 30 brand new logic puzzles made by Shelly Hazard! Produced by Amazon Digital Services, the game is setup much like our own interactive puzzles but also includes additional features, such as hints and error checking. The puzzles are broken into three categories - easy, intermediate, and hard. The interface is very good and allows you to easily navigate to any puzzle. You can even leave a puzzle partially finished, start a new one, and return to your place on the previous one.

While my family's health issues continue (BOTH parents have been quite ill the past couple of months), I am cautiously optimistic. My sister is doing well in recovering from the loss of her husband this past summer. My father, who went through colon cancer surgery in early October is FINALLY making real progress in getting better and for the first time since the surgery, I feel that he will make a full recovery in the coming months. Unfortunately, my Mother continues to decline (she has Alzheimer's and is the main reason I've been unable to write puzzles - it's hard to concentrate on anything when you're constantly interupted and spend all day, every day repeating yourself...*sigh*). However, we're working on a long-term solution for her that will keep her happy and safe but free my father and I from her constant care.... So, the addition of new puzzles will probably continue to be erratic for a bit longer but I hope that by the new year, I'll be able to start catching up and, most importantly, get back to our regular monthly schedule. My partners and I are still committed to the monthly puzzles and all those that are missing will be posted. Just please be patient a bit longer... ~ Shelly
